Occupational Therapy Services

Chronic illnesses and pain don’t need to stop you from living your life. With occupational therapy services from Spero Rehab, you can overcome movement barriers and gain the life skills to get back to your daily routine.

What Is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is the process of regaining life skills after a change in one’s abilities. If you recently experienced an injury, underwent surgery, or were diagnosed with a chronic illness, you may need occupational therapy to relearn how to perform daily tasks or adapt to your new challenges.

Many people confuse occupational therapy with physical therapy. The main difference is that physical therapy focuses on improving functional movements, while occupational therapy centers on improving a patient’s ability to perform specific daily activities. We offer both services in three of our five clinics and commonly combine them to foster holistic recovery and well-being.

At Spero Rehab, our expert occupational therapy services center around these goals:

  • Promote functional independence
  • Overcome cognitive, physical, and emotional challenges
  • Improve your quality of life
  • Maximize your full potential
  • Promote health and well-being

What To Expect

Our licensed and experienced occupational therapists take great care to help patients reach their fullest potential despite any cognitive, physical, and emotional barriers they’re facing. Here’s what you can expect when you come to Spero Rehab for occupational therapy services.

No two conditions are exactly alike, so no two occupational therapy programs can be the same. We will create a program that targets your specific movement challenges and physical goals. We want you to get back to your daily routine, so we’ll focus your therapies on the skills you need to accomplish those tasks.

Injuries and chronic illnesses can limit your physical movement, but they also create cognitive and emotional challenges that can significantly impact your daily life. Our occupational therapists also help with skills like memory, sensory processing, problem-solving, attention, and emotional reasoning to promote holistic rehabilitation of both the body and mind.

While exercises are an important component of regaining strength and mobility, they make up only a small part of occupational therapy programs. Our OTs will also help you practice performing specific tasks, such as brushing your teeth, tying your shoes, buttoning your shirt, or typing on a computer. We also venture outside of the clinic often for our adaptive sports program, trialing adaptive kayaking, cycling, rock climbing, and other recreational activities!

Common Conditions We Treat
